Hello! My name is Nicole Bensen; I am the founder of Tentacles and Tea, and I'm so happy you've stopped by. Tentacles and Tea was created to provide global, wellbeing retreats for womxn. Due to COVID-19 I'm now offering online workshops for individuals and corporations alike. With a mix of reflection, science, and community I equip corporate employees with research-backed happiness and wellbeing tools that are simple to execute and provide powerful results.
"Next Level You" is my signature 6-week, online workshop. We cover research on what really makes us happy (it's often not what you think), and practice simple, actionable tools in individual and group exercises to increase happiness and become more resilient, confident and calm. The final 2020 session starts on November 10th, and you can sign up here.
- Learn about the common Imposter Syndrome experience and how to overcome it
- Practice ways to stop overthinking
- Uncover core beliefs that are holding you back from achieving goals
- Dig into your values and practice how to feel worthy beyond external validation
- Walk away with (so many) tools that can change your life, and have the support of a community of like-minded, open-hearted womxn
For groups/corporations, please contact me to talk about a private workshop for your organization. In addition to "Next Level You," companies have benefitted from 75-minute workshops on topics including happiness, self-compassion and self-promotion. Workshops include a presentation, workbook and interactive practices.
- "5 exercises to increase your happiness in the next hour"
- "Sustaining your performance by practicing self-compassion"
- "Exploring and overcoming Imposter Syndrome"
Sign up for the Tea Time newsletter to get wellbeing tips a couple times a month, and to get the scoop on online (and once we're traveling again, in-person) workshops.
The "Next Level You" program is for you if you are feeling overwhelmed, and are ready for someone to hand you tools you can use instantly to experience the happiness you crave and deserve. The stress of the pandemic, working from home, missing your friends (and social hours!) have added even more to your already full plate. You're juggling all the balls, trying to keep the plates spinning, insert any overused phrase here to say you have little to no capacity for you and your wellbeing. You don't feel you have the time or mind space to add yet another thing to your to-do list, but you know "nothing is going to change if nothing changes." As a previous attendee said, "Your sessions are a gift!" Put yourself at the top of your priority list, and watching your overall wellbeing improve.
Have you ever felt like you don’t quite belong? That maybe your peers are all smarter, more successful, more balanced, more something-that-you’re-not? Imposter Syndrome, or Imposter Phenomenon, is a belief that you don’t feel your accomplishments are enough, and you may live in fear for moments or longer, that you’re about to be exposed as a fraud. Although this can affect anyone, it’s more common among women and underrepresented groups—those who might be in a field, group or company where there isn’t anyone else like them. This could be anything from the way you look, to gender, race or educational background. We’ll talk about common ways Imposter Syndrome shows up, and how to overcome it.
#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and other underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. This 90-minute, live, interactive program will highlight the importance of self promotion and provide you with the tools to practice this skill. Due to the interactive nature, the number of participants is capped to ensure everyone is able to have a voice in small group settings. At this time I am facilitating this program for private groups (send me an email if you have a group of 8-15), or for those who are registered in another of my programs.
